Hi There!

Welcome to my blog.

I love cities - glam - airlines  -  and photography.  All of the images on this site were taken by me on my travels around the planet.

I can't wait to have you come on some of my adventures!

United Airlines Club Lounge Review – Terminal A Newark (EWR)

United Airlines Club Lounge Review – Terminal A Newark (EWR)

The UA Club at Terminal A is a hidden treasure in the airline’s network of lounges.  Bright, cheery, and hip – are three words I would use to describe this facility.  Terminal C has the heavy hitter clubs for United (The new Polaris Lounge and a very large UA Club) – but you must sample the A facility if you are departing from that wing of the airport!

Here’s a review of my recent (early morning) visit to the Terminal A Club at Newark:

Atmosphere

If it’s been a while since you last explored this club – you’ll be thrilled to see it was recently renovated (2017).  It has a cool, mid-century, mod vibe – an era that I love and harkens back to the golden age of travel!

There’s also plenty of light and views of the tarmac, which is something that the main club in Terminal C lacks completely.  The flood of light and gate activity injects a huge level of energy and positivity.  It’s also fun plane spotting – even if most of the aircraft are smaller regional jets.

Food & Beverage

There’s a dining area that is fully stocked with treats at all times of the day.  On my last visit, it was breakfast.  There was oatmeal, yogurts, bagels, cereals, fruits and eggs.  Later in the day they have salads, soups, and snacks.

The lounge has a magnificent bar with a wide selection of wines, beers, champagnes and spirits.  A menu tells you what’s complimentary (house wines, Prosecco, and select spirits) – and what comes with a charge – so make sure you look at that first to avoid any surprises.

There’s a huge coffee bar with machines that conjure up everything from rich cappuccino’s to regular cups of java.   If you’re into soda’s, they have a contraption that dispenses about 120 different types of carbonated beverages.  It’s fun just sampling all the different types of combinations!

My Verdict

I really like this lounge and look forward to every visit.  It’s not as hectic as the main lounges at Newark and it has a chic vibe with marvelous views of the gates at Terminal A.  It’s always a fantastic place to escape before a regional flight!
