United Airlines Club Lounge Review – Mexico City (MEX)
The United Club at Mexico City International gets the job done. It has refreshments, drinks and space to relax (or work) before your flight. The design is slightly dated, but it’s a pleasant space.
Here’s my review of my recent visit (mini post for a mini lounge):
The lounge has two wings with seating and work areas. Most of the furniture is ‘old-style’ United with its grey leather armchairs and marble cocktail tables. Everything looks like it's trapped in the 90's - but I'm sure the facility is slated for a reno soon!
I was there in the morning so there wasn’t a problem snagging a seat. I have a feeling a lot of people were whooping it up in the Avianca Lounge (Read the Review) which is a lot closer to the UA gates.
Food and Beverage
United puts on a great spread in their Mexico Lounge – with many cuisine items that you don’t see in other parts of their system.
I was there for breakfast – and the buffet featured Chilaquiles - - one of my favorites! They also had delicious egg sandwich croissants – and a number of other ‘healthier’ choices to start one’s day.
The lounge features a turbo Illy coffee machine – which is becoming the norm in United Clubs now. It poured a great double expresso - - which was the electrical jolt I needed (I was there at 7AM!).
The club also showcases a wide range of spirits, wines and beers. with many items I'd never seen in a UA facility (I have a feeling they were local favorites).
The United Airlines Club in Mexico City is a great place to start the day – and get ready for your flight. I wouldn’t call it slick or glam – but it was a great escape with plenty of local favorites to eat and drink
