Air Dolomiti Business Class Review Munich to Nice (MUC-NCE)
OK – I have to admit I had never really heard about this airline before flying on it. A last-minute itinerary change in plans enabled me to fly this Italian regional carrier. I have to say I was impressed.
Here’s a short review of my SHORT jaunt from Munich to Nice.
The seats on Air Dolomiti are a bright and cheery emerald green – which is reflective of the carriers corporate colors.
I was on an Embraer 190 which had 2-by-2 seating in both coach and business. As is the tradition with most European carriers – business passengers sat in economy seats – but they all had a blocked empty seat beside them. I expected this and was totally fine with it.
What I didn’t expect was an amenity kit on such a short flight.
I was amazed that Air Dolomiti had slipped a felt pouch containing a tooth brush, lip balm, and hand lotion into each of the business class seat pockets. No chance of my skin drying out on this 65-minute flight!
Food and Beverage
Incredibly the meal service started with a choice of four wines, champagne, or spirits! Again - an extravagant offering on such a short flight. (My heart skipped a beat - - "Was I on the right plane" I asked myself!)
Within minutes of securing my chardonnay - the flight attendant presented me with a generous helping of carved beef and potato salad (a very popular accompaniment in Germany). I am not usually a fan of roast beef – but it was delicious and fulfilling.
It would have been ridiculous to have movie on such a short fligh. However, Air Dolomiti did offer a newspaper service over Wifi, which I thought was brilliant. Passengers had the ability to connect to an onboard system which housed copies major newspapers published in the morning. It was a great way to catch up on the day’s events!
On most flights under 90 minutes – there's very little to comment on. incredibly, Air Dolomiti went out of their way to ensure it was a memorable experience: a hearty snack, a selection of beverages, digital reading materials – and even an inflight amenity kit.
Bravissimo! I loved It and hope more carriers are inspired by their offering.
