Hi There!

Welcome to my blog.

I love cities - glam - airlines  -  and photography.  All of the images on this site were taken by me on my travels around the planet.

I can't wait to have you come on some of my adventures!

United Club Lounge Review - LAX

United Club Lounge Review - LAX

The United Club at LAX is one of the best in the system for so many reasons!  Tons of space, great food, a fab bar – and perhaps the best feature of all: an outdoor patio!!

Here’s a review from my recent visit:

United Club Seating

The lounge at LAX is MEGA big.  Multiple rooms and acres to spread out and relax before your flight! I was there during the middle of the day and had no problem securing a seat – and it did not seem crowded at all.

There were spots to work – and spots to gaze out the window – but the most premium spot was the patio….

The Outdoor Terrace at LAX

This – by far –is the best feature in the lounge.  I snagged a seat on the outdoor terrace and soaked in the California sun.  And I got a ringside seat to admire the jets pushing back!  It was so much fun – even if it did smell a bit like aircraft fuel out there.

It’s a bit noisy as the aircraft revved their engines (so don’t plan any conference calls) – but that all adds to the thrill of being so close to all the action.

The lounge had a huge bar, offering up beer, wine and other types of libations.  The basic ones were free – and the premium ones (everything all the way up to Veuve Cliquot) cost extra.

Both bartenders looked like they knew most of the cliental and were super friendly…so they must get legions of regulars.

I have to call out the Coke Freestyle machines that United is installing in all it’s new lounges.  I LOVE them.  They are programmed to mix about 1000 different variations of sodas.  I went for the Caffeine-Free-Vanilla-Diet-Coke!

There was plenty of food on offer as well – and it seemed a bit better than what’s showcased in some other United Clubs.

There was a great salad bar – and even a spread featuring various appetizers.  I went for the Italian salami, buffalo mozzarella, and tomatoe dish (twice!).

Showers

This lounge does not have showers.   Don’t fret though – the new Polaris one they are building at LAX will have them.  You'll just need to be booked in international business class to use that lounge when it opens.

My Verdict

The United Club Lounge at LAX is one of my favorites – and one of their best in their US domestic system.  The place is huge, has great views of the airport, and lets you sit outside (something that’s a luxury!)

I can’t wait for my next visit.
