Library Business Class Lounge Review- Nice (NCE)
Funky and hip would be two words I would use to describe The Library Business Class Lounge at Nice’s International Airport.
It’s not affiliated with a specific airline, but several carriers – including Austrian Airlines – contract it out for their premium passengers.
Here’s a review of my latest visit:
(Please note that it used to be called the Salon Azure.)
The lounge is located in Terminal 1 – in the Schengen Area. It’s tucked away on the second floor, which you can access via stairs or elevator.
The compact Library Lounge felt more like a trendy hotel lobby in Miami than a typical airline club.
The place is bathed in white: white furniture, white ceilings, and white fixtures. All of this is highlighted with blue (azure) walls – hence the former name of the lounge. A mod, relaxing feel was the overall effect.
The lounge also showcases a collection of designer coffee table books in what I would call it’s library. With all kinds of cool hardcovers, I left inspired to re-decorate my apartment with the mid-century classics!
Food & Beverage
All of the basics in the alcohol department – and then some were covered. There was solid collection of spirits that included French specialties like Picard’s Pastice de Marseille and some local brandies.
For tea-totters – there was a varied selection of juices and teas – but the centerpiece was the massive coffee machine. The hot pink espresso maker looked like it could have powered the disco lights at Studio 54. I tried it out and it made a fantastic café latte.
For snacks the lounge featured pastries, cookies, fruits, nuts – and some sandwiches. Not what I would call a buffet – but it was enough to tide me over before dinner in Vienna.
The Internet was strong and speedy in the lounge – so no problems on that front.
There were lots of work-spaces equipped with charging ports – and even a computer zone for people who left their laptop at home... (Who even uses a desktop today?).
The Library Lounge in Nice was a mini gem. With a trendy atmosphere and relaxing environment it was a great place to grab a cocktail before my flight.
If you are jet-setting in the South of France – and flying commercial – make sure you check it out
