Great Space - NCL's Gem Cabin Review
People ask me all the time how I can afford to travel so much. And so luxuriously!
Well, here's an example. Two days before departure, I found a last minute "inside guarantee" on the Norwegian Gem. And then! I was upgraded to a mid-ship outside cabin, the day before sailing! I lucked out!
Here's the first of four reviews, about this voyage. This one's about the cabin!
Room 5070 was my home for 11 nights. It had a large picture window, so I could see the breathtaking views, from New York to the sunny Caribbean.
There was plenty of room – comfortable twin beds, but no couch. Some of my readers might consider the décor a tad dated – but at least it was neutral, so it didn’t bother me.
The desk and work area on NCL’s Gem was larger than most I've encountered at sea (Although one shouldn’t really be working on a cruise!!).
The desk "shined like the top of the Chrysler Building" so I could tell it was well maintained. I wish I could polish that well!
The bathroom in this cabin was spacious – for a ship! Plenty of room in the shower, especially for a person of size, like myself! The toilet was separated by an additional door – which would allow two cabin mates to share the facilities in a pinch. So bring that friend who demands extra privacy!
And did I mention you can pack as much as you want for this ship!! NCL's Gem has enough closet space for a world voyage. So bring all your Louis Vuitton luggage!
There are so many drawers, shelves and hangers – for even the biggest fashionista!
I loved this cabin and would book it again... or more accurately, hope to get upgraded to it again!
