Austrian Airlines Business Class Review 777
Flying Austrian Airlines in Business Class is... pure luxury!
Their service, food, and seats are stellar --- among the best in the world. I recently had the pleasure of flying them between Vienna and Toronto on their Boeing 777. Here's my review:
(Buckle up - it's going to be a glamorous ride!)
First, let's talk about Austrian Airline’s Business Class seat. I love it! The room allocation was simply palatial! The seat came equipped with a HUGE side table that allowed me to spread out. Power wasn’t a problem either - - it had USB chargers and regular outlets.
And bonus: I was lucky enough to nab one of the prized solo window spots.
Sleeping on Austrian was a dream.
Their super comfy bedding was a winner: Soft & Plush. I loved the alpine motif on the duvet and pillows. I felt like I was about to take a nap in the Alps!
I was on a day flight – but as soon as lunch was finished I took advantage of the seats that reclined to a fully flat position. The side table actually cocooned me – forming a barrier between my slumber and the aisle.
Okay, let's discuss the in-flight dining – THIS is where Austrian Airlines blew away the competition. They actually had a chef on-board!
The cuisine was divine from start to finish!
First, they rolled out old world glam by serving appetizers from trolleys instead of on plates. Their selection was extensive – putting first class on most airlines to shame. And don't get me started on The Salmon Tartar – truly gourmet – from taste to presentation.
For the main, I had the Fillet of Char with Crayfish Sauce, which IS the best fish I've ever tasted. And savoring it at 35,000 feet only enhanced my experience!
To top everything off, I had the cheese plate with Austrian dessert wine (pictured at the start of this post). They also rolled out a cart full of sweets - but there simply wasn’t any room left for that!
Austrian has something that is quite unique – and that’s their coffee menu. It showcased about 10 different coffee concoctions. I had the Viennese one with cognac (as a sleep aid of course!).
Just in case anyone was even remotely hungry after the feast they called lunch, Austrian served a delicious pre-arrival snack an hour before landing. They offered two choices: Prawn Salad with papaya capriccio and chili lime dressing - - or - - Buffalo Mozzarella with asparagus.
I went with the prawns to continue the "Seafood-Motif" of this flight.
In a heartbeat – I would go out of my way to fly Austrian Airlines in Business Class.
The food is spectacular – the seats are heavenly – and the service is top-notch.
I can't wait to experience their alpine hospitality again!
