The Magic of Buenos Aires (EZE)
Buenos Aires is one of my favorite cities to visit in the world!! It's a long trek from most places in North America and Europe - -but it is so worth it. Once you have had a chance to experience the charm and excitement of this metropolis - you will be hooked for life.
I always tell people that Buenos Aires is a mix between Paris and New York. The city has stunning architecture and buildings that emote the Grand Boulevards of the the City of Light - and the excitement and energy of the Big Apple. And it's easy to forget that this is South America as you'll feel like you're in Europe most of the time.
Everything is over the top in this city- -starting with Reccolletta Cemetery. The first time I went there I made the pilgrimage to see Evita's tomb. However, I was blown away be the ornate tombs and mausoleums. It's almost as if the 'residents' where all trying to outdo each other when it came to designing their final resting space. The place feels like something right out of a gothic Egar Allen Poe novel.
For me, I love walking around many of the city's trending neighborhoods - and hanging out in some of the hippest eateries one can find in the americas. No matter what you like to eat - Buenos Aires has it. Everyone always talks about the fact that Argenitina is a Mecca for beef lovers - and that's true. You can't leave without sampling the Bife de Lomo. However, I think it has some of the best Italian restaurants this side of the Arno!
No trip to Buenos Aires is complete with out a concert or an Opera at the Teatro Colon. Grab tickets to what-ever you can see there - just to experience it grandeur. Some people claim it has the best acoustics in the world - but the real fun in visiting it is immersing yourself in its opulence and glam.
