Hi There!

Welcome to my blog.

I love cities - glam - airlines  -  and photography.  All of the images on this site were taken by me on my travels around the planet.

I can't wait to have you come on some of my adventures!

Radisson Blu Kenilworth Hotel Review - London (LHR)

Radisson Blu Kenilworth Hotel Review - London (LHR)

Finding an inexpensive, centrally located, trendy hotel in London is NOT easy.

Over the years I have tried lots of different lodging options in the city. I have to say that one of my favorites – that doesn’t break the bank – is the Radisson Blu Kenilworth.

Situated in Bloomsbury, the Kenilworth is a fantastic home base. The British Museum is steps away – and the West End, National Gallery, and other cultural hotspots are within walking distance.

As a bonus – the hotel is blocks away from the Piccadilly line – so you can easily zip in from Heathrow to the hotel.  Here’s a review of my latest stay:

Rooms

I always get a single room – and they are for sure “compact!”  But for the price (I usually pay $150 or so per night) they are a complete steal.

Singles feature a double bed that takes up 80% of the space, a small (but adequate) work desk and more than enough storage.  The layout actually works quite well.

Don’t expect to party in this room.  There's enough room for a split of champagne and that's it!

The bathrooms are richly appointed in all marble –  from floor to ceiling!  I thought I was in an Italian palazzo!

The single does not have a tub – but it has a powerful shower where I pampered myself with the luxury Gilchrist and Soames bath products that were on hand.

The Kenilworth puts on a fantastic spread for breakfast with tons of variety. There is enough fuel on the buffet to keep me going for the whole day as I explored museum after museum in London.

If you are fan of smoked salmon (who isn’t?) – make sure you navigate to the platter of Scottish Lox that they always have on hand! I think I have black bear genes given the amount of salmon I can consume!

If you are a fan of British Chic and want to be centrally located – the Kenilworth fits the bill.

After a lot of searching for hotels that don’t break the bank, this Radisson property is a hidden treasure.  While the space is tight, the city is at your doorstep – and they money you save can go towards your high tea fund!
