JW Marriott Marquis Dubai Review (DXB)
This hotel is one of the treasures in the Marriott line-up of glamorous hotels across the globe. It holds the title of being the tallest hotel in the world at 72 floors– but that’s not the only thing that makes it special. Here's my review of my recent stay:
The rooms are palatial – and stunning!
I felt like I was staying in an apartment. There was enough space for a circus family and all the animals from their act. My room had a massive king-sized bed and huge work area. It was also fully automated: I could control the lighting, blinds, and heating from a single console next to my bed.
What blew my mind was the view from my room on the 64th floor! It was jaw-dropping: I felt like I was skydiving each time I looked out. The room had two huge floor-to-ceiling windows that allowed me to savour the sites – day and night.
The bathroom was completely over the top! It was one of the biggest I have ever seen (including the ones at the Mandarin in Bangkok). The layout had more footage than my whole apartment in New York!
There was a separate plunge tub, walk in shower area, and commode - and the vanity was large enough to accommodate the complete cast of a Las Vegas review. I think I am forever spoiled after staying at this property - - it will be hard for another bathroom to ever compare!
The Executive Lounge
The Execute Lounge at the Marquis Dubai is definitely a jewel in the portfolio of Marriott business clubs. Like everything in this property, it was huge – taking up the entire 47th floor.
They hosted a non-stop succession of food and drink throughout the day starting with an impressive complimentary breakfast. In the afternoon they served tea and snacks – and at night they pulled out all the stops with complimentary drinks and buffet (that changed each night of my stay). This was not the place to go on a diet!
The lounge also had extensive business facilities with plenty of private workspaces – and an impressive set of meeting rooms. If you're looking to negotiate the next international trade or oil deal – there's no need to wander away from the Marriott!
This is not a regular hotel – far from it. This property represents almost everything people love about Dubai: Huge Scale – Stunning Architecture – and Luxury. A spectacular place to stay if you are in the city for business or fun!
